This page communicates the new features in Alida's October 2024 release.
Community and Surveys
Modern reporting
Modern reporting is now generally available to everyone! To determine whether modern reports or standard reports are right for you, consult the product documentation for guidance on when to choose which reporting solution.
Here's a quick look at some of the features in modern reporting:
- Supported question types: Modern reporting supports the most frequently used question types, including Choice, Grid, Number, Open End, NPS, Rating, Email, Zip / Postal Code, and Phone Number.
- Survey response analysis: Data is now displayed in a single report. Tiles with tabs allow you to toggle between crosstab and Open End views, as well as advanced analysis views such as sentiment analysis and TURF.
- TURF analysis: Modern reporting supports TURF analysis using Multiple Choice question data. Use TURF analysis to determine the optimal combination of products, services, or offerings that will appeal to the largest audience possible.
- Sentiment analysis using GenAI: Automatically categorize text responses into the topics identified and assign positive, negative, or neutral sentiment to them. Alida AI Sentiment Analysis uses the latest large language models powered by generative AI to rapidly and automatically provide human-level sentiment analysis.
- Crosstabs and banners: Modern reporting features improved crosstab and banner displays compared to standard reporting. Use banners to break down report data, and compare results from different segments, in the same view. Nested banners allow for deeper segmentation, revealing how multiple variables interact within groups.
- Filters: Use filters to focus your report view on specific subsets of respondents. You can filter your report based on profile variables or survey responses (including empty and text-based responses).
- Excel summary export: Export a summary view of your data to Excel.
- Individual text analytics drilldown: Go beyond top-level sentiment analysis to view response text details.
- Numeric questions in crosstabs: Display calculations in crosstabs based on data collected through Number questions.
- Recodes: Using the Convert to Numbers recode, you can assign numbers to answers, which allows you to convert the values and calculate statistics for Likert scales.
Automated test runs (ATRs) in modern surveys
An automated test run (ATR) is a system job that generates test responses in bulk, allowing you to test your survey's logic, functionality, and reliability without having to manually click through the survey. ATRs have existed in power surveys for a long time; as of this release, this popular and often-requested feature is available in modern surveys.
Audience management enhancements
We've made the following improvements to make community management easier:
- On the Activities page, the quick access menu beside an activity now includes a link to modern reporting.
- Profile variables are now pre-selected in member group exports.
- You can now bulk select multiple member groups and invitations when sending a reminder.
Secure file transfer
Securely upload and share files with other Admins in your community or with authorized Alida staff. Uploaded files are automatically deleted after 7 days.
Easier SSO setup
We've streamlined Single Sign-On setup for Azure, Okta, and OneLogin. To set up auto-provisioning using a System for Cross-Domain Identity Management (SCIM), please contact Alida Technical Support or your Customer Success Manager.
Touchpoint
Versioning
Versioning allows you to update an activity by creating a new version of it, editing the new version, and then publishing it to make the updates live to participants immediately. Versioning replaces the old republishing functionality and workflow. With versioning, you can change anything in your activity. Data for removed questions is never deleted, and you can view everything in the same report.
Updates from Q3 2024 release
Third party sample enhancements
UI improvements make the process for distributing a survey to a third party sample easier and more efficient.
