Enhancements to user roles and permissions
We're making it easier than ever to secure access to the consent data and personally identifiable information that's collected through Community. The following features are now generally available:
-
New user type with access levels somewhere in between Admin and Author. Power Users are similar to Admins, but unlike Admins, they cannot assign user roles or modify user permissions, and their access to sensitive data can be restricted.
-
Can access sensitive data permission
This new permission setting allows Admins to grant Power Users and Authors access to sensitive data on a per user basis.
These features affect how Community users work with sensitive data across the application. For detailed information about the impact of these features, see Sensitive data.

-
Customers who have sensitive data purge enabled can configure the grace period and eligible member statuses themselves, without having to go through Alida.
-
The new user notification center will consolidate all Community notifications in a central location that can be managed on an individual basis. Users will also be updated on the status of these system actions such as whether an import of new members was successful.
-
What's new since we released Export API improvements last fall:
-
Pull new information from surveys or profile variables since your last sync
For users who are syncing their response or profile variable data on a recurring basis (daily, weekly, etc.), a new parameter (sinceDateTime) is available so that only new data since the specified date and time will be exported.
-
- A new App Center integration with Tableau allows customers to extend data analysis beyond Community, and take advantage of Tableau's visualization and dashboard tools. To use this integration, customers must have Tableau version 2019.4 or later installed and be a Community admin.
-
For ease of use and to promote engagement, hubs now display comments and replies to posts in a threaded view, instead of a flat one. Additional enhancements include:
- The ability to add images to comments and replies.
- A grey Admin icon on all Admin posts, allowing them to be identified more easily.
-
Export comments and replies from hubs
Admins can now export the content of comments and replies, along with their associated images, and analyze these contributions outside of Community.
