This applies to upgraded customers who need to update a member’s status to Active after it was set to either Nonmember, Purged, or Undeliverable. The quickest way to update a member’s status is to perform a system upload and tell the member to reset their password. Or, you can restore them if the member is Purged.
Prerequisites
- You need a new email address from the member.
- Create a CSV file that meets CSV file requirements and includes the member’s email, memberid, community, and the memberstatus set to Active.

Detailed Steps
Identifying the Member's Information
- In the Community app, click Community > Members.
- In the Show Search Filters section, set your filter criteria using what you know about the member.
Note: You can filter using the following to narrow down your search:
- Member's name, email, or MemberId
- Community
- Member status
- Member group
- Click the member’s name in the Name column.
- In the dialog, find their email, community and member ID.
Updating a member's status
The member’s status determines what options you have when updating their status to Active. Follow the instructions based on the member's status.
Option | Description |
Active | If you're member is currently Active, inform them to use the Forgot Password link on the sign-in page. A link with a password reset will be sent via email and expire after 48 hours. Please contact Alida Technical Support if the member has not received the email. |
Nonmember | Note: Invitations can be regarded as unsolicited emails by Nonmembers, which can negatively affect your IP address reputation and future email deliverability. Ensure people who will receive these emails have consented to be contacted. For more information, see Alida External Sample Waiver.
Result: A notification message appears in the notification center with information about the status of your upload.

Purged | You can update a Purged member to become Active through the member page or by doing a system upload. Member page
Result: Your member’s status is now Active.

Result: A notification message appears in the notification center with information about the status of your upload.

Undeliverable | A member is unable to receive emails if the following scenarios occur:
Prerequisite Request an additional email address from the member and use member's additional email address in the CSV file you create.
Result: A notification message appears in the notification center with information about the status of your upload.
