By using Profile actions in different surveys to record the members' profile variable values, and track possible changes, you can automatically send a new activity invitation to a member based on a change.
At a high level, the workflow looks like this:
- In Survey 1, the member's profile variable value is A.
- In Survey 2, the member's profile variable value has changed from A to B.
- The member automatically receives an invitation to Survey 3 because their profile variable value has changed from A to B.
Example
You run a community for a grocery store chain, and you want to know which store location is the main one members shop at. This value is stored in a profile variable called Main Location. When the Main Location value changes from A to B, you want to send a follow-up survey asking members why.
Detailed Steps
- In Survey 1, add a Profile action for Main Location. Distribute Survey 1 as you normally would.
- In Survey 2, add a Profile action for Main Location. Distribute Survey 2 as you normally would.
- In Survey 3, on the Distribute page, create a new invitation.
- On the Recipients tab, select Create a new filter from the Recipients menu.
- Add a set of response-based conditions for every possible combination of values.
For example, if the grocery store chain has locations A, B, C, and D, you will need to add one set of conditions for each of the following scenarios:
- If A changed to B, C, or D
- If B changed to A, C, or D
- If C changed to A, B, or D
- If D changed to A, B, or C
- When you are finished, click Save.
- On the Recipients tab, select Automatically invite new eligible recipients.
