Test emails do not contain piped-in variables, so if you want to verify the piped-in name (or other values) you can send a live email to a test member account. Additionally, you can export members to verify that your recipients have a name in the system.
Detailed Steps
Send a live email
To distribute a live email to a test account you can upload a member or nonmember as invitation recipient.
- Create a CSV file with one column called Email and add your email address.
Note: When testing with an email address that is not in the system or does not have a name, you will have to include a second column in your CSV file called either PanelistName or FirstName to import member name. - Open an invitation.
- On the Recipients tab, from the Recipients menu, select Upload recipients.
- Click Choose File, select a CSV file to import, and click Open.
- Select Include members found in the csv file.
- Click Upload.
- Click Done to return to the invitation.
- Once the Total Eligible count updates you can proceed and click Send Now.
Export members
To verify if your recipients have a value for the name variable (PanelistName or FirstName), you can export the data from a member group to a CSV file.
- In the global navigation menu, click Community > Member Groups.
- On the Member Groups toolbar, click Export.
- From the Choose members to export menu, select a member group.
- Click Export.
- Download and verify.
