Search with Alida Discovery

Find surveys, questions, and answer options using natural-language search in Alida Discovery.

Alida Discovery requires AI & Machine Learning to be enabled for your community. For more information, see Enable AI and Machine Learning.

Note: This task cannot be performed by Author or Analyst users.

Example

You ask What have we asked about holiday shopping? to find past surveys and questions before you field a new seasonal study.

1. Do one of the following:
   • Click Discovery in the application toolbar.

     

   • Open Discovery from the App Drawer.

     

2. Type and submit your search prompt.
   Tip:

   • Phrase prompts as questions or short descriptions of the topic you need.
   • Include product, category, or audience details when they apply.
   • Do not use Boolean operators or wildcards; Alida Discovery interprets meaning, not keyword syntax.

3. Review the Alida Discovery reply and the list of matching activities.
   Results are ordered by relevance. The results window on the right-hand side can display a maximum of 10 surveys. For each result, the following metadata is displayed:

   • Activity name link
   • Creation date
   • Activity summary
   • Activity status
4. Optional: Ask a follow-up question about the initial search results.
5. Optional: To copy the text of a chat reply, hover over the chat reply and click Copy.
   
6. Optional: To vote on the quality of a chat reply, click Good response or Bad response at the bottom of a chat reply.
   
7. Optional: To display search results related to a prior chat reply on the right-hand side, click Reload Previous Results at the bottom of a chat reply.
   
8. Optional: Click an activity name link to open the activity and view it.
9. Optional: To return to a previous search, click History and select the chat.
   History stores chats from the last seven days. Anything older than seven days is deleted.
10. Optional: To start a new search, click New Chat.

If you receive no results, try a more specific prompt, confirm you have access to the activity, and confirm AI & Machine Learning is enabled. See Alida Discovery for more information.
