Alida Discovery is an AI-powered search experience that helps you find existing research content in the application using plain-language questions or keyword syntax. By searching based on the underlying intent in your query rather than exact keyword matches, Alida Discovery yields more meaningful results.

How Alida Discovery search works
To start searching, click Discovery in the application toolbar.
Alternately, you can click the App Drawer and select Discovery.
In the chat pane on the left, you enter a question or description of what you are looking for. In response, the application returns a conversational summary of activities ranked by relevance.

Tips for effective searches

Use natural language. Phrase prompts as research
questions (for example,
Which surveys asked about sustainable packaging for beverages?
) rather than single keywords. - Be specific. Include product, category, audience, or behavior when you can so results stay focused.
- Refine in the same conversation. Use follow-up prompts to narrow or broaden results.

You can search for research trends and ask for visualizations of them. For example, if you search What CSAT trends should I be aware of? Create a visualization, the search results will include a list of relevant surveys. They may also include a trend analysis that points to key trends to monitor, and charts about CSAT research timeline and coverage and CSAT study distribution by service function.
Considerations and limitations
- Response data. You cannot search response datasets in this release.
- Scope of search. Alida Discovery helps you find and explore existing surveys and related content. It does not provide general study design recommendations or methodology coaching (for example, how to build an IHUT).
- Relevance. Results depend on how surveys are indexed and how closely your prompt matches indexed content. Empty or unexpected results can occur when wording is vague or when content is not indexed.
- Permissions. Search results respect your roles and team-based permissions. You only see surveys and related data for activities you are allowed to access. If you expect a survey to appear but it does not, confirm that you have access to that activity before assuming the search missed it.
- Languages. Generally, Alida Discovery works with all supported languages. However, the quality of the search results may vary across different languages.
- Deleted or changed content. Search indexing is synced twice daily. If content deletion or changes occurs before the sync job runs, the search results may still show the deleted content or reflect the unchanged content.
