Moderation

Once a forum is active, you can use its features to moderate participant activity and organize your view of the forum's posts and replies.

As an Admin or Author user, you will automatically have moderator permissions in all forums.

Note: Moderation functionality is available in desktop view only.

Tip: If you want to see posts and replies as they come in, refresh the forum page, or collapse and expand the replies under a post intermittently.

• Pin a forum or post
  A pinned forum or post remains at the top of the list regardless of how many new forums or posts appear or how the list is sorted.
• Lock a post
  Stop participants from replying to a post and its replies.
• Remove a post or reply
  Remove your own post if you change your mind, or moderate forums by removing others' posts if they contain abusive or offensive content.
• Suspend a participant from a forum
  If a participant is being abusive or posting offensive content, you can suspend that participant from the forum.
• View a participant's user profile
  See detailed participant profile information.
• Edit a participant's profile
  Participants can edit their own profiles. Moderators can change a participant's personal profile settings if a participant has chosen an offensive screen name or profile picture. Moderators can also modify each other's profiles.
• Forum word clouds
  The word cloud is an interactive, text-based, visual representation of the most frequently occurring words in a forum's posts and replies.
• Forum tagging
  Add tags to posts and replies while you moderate forums, thereby making subsequent filtering and data analysis easier. You can then use the options in the tag cloud to filter posts and replies, or to change how tags are displayed.
