Add a weight scheme template

Define reusable weight scheme templates that store target percentages for profile variables so you can apply consistent weighting across modern reports.

You can save target-percentage definitions for reuse instead of rebuilding the same weighting configuration each time you create a weight scheme. Weight scheme templates are available to import when you create weight schemes in any reports in your community.

Note: For this initial release, only profile variables can be selected as weighting variables for templates. A weight scheme template stores the profile variables and their target percentages only. Sample counts, unweighted percentages, weight factor limits, and filters are not stored in the template.

• Save a weight scheme as a template while applying and creating one.
  1. Apply a weight scheme to a modern report.
     Ensure the weight scheme only includes profile variables.
  2. After setting your target percentages and verifying your weight scheme by clicking Calculate Efficiency, click Save as Template.
     
  3. In the Weight Scheme Template Name field, enter a meaningful name for the template.
  4. In the Weight Scheme Template Description field, enter a description of the purpose of the template and when it should be used.
  5. Click Save.
• Save a weight scheme as a template from the Modern Report Templates page.
  1. Select Product Settings > Modern Report Templates.
     
  2. Click the Weight Scheme Templates tab.
  3. Click + New Weight Scheme.
  4. In the Weight Scheme Template Name field, enter a meaningful name for the template.
  5. In the Weight Scheme Template Description field, enter a description of the purpose of the template and when it should be used.
  6. Select the checkbox beside each profile variable to include in the template and click Next.

     Only profile variables are available to select. Your selections appear in the Selected Profile Variable(s) list on the right. Click the delete icon beside a profile variable to remove it.

     
  7. Enter the Target Percentage for each profile variable value.

     Valid target percentages must:

     • Add up to 100% total for each profile variable.
     • Only contain numbers (not letters or special characters).
     • Be greater than or equal to 0.

     
  8. Click Create.
     The weight scheme template is saved. You do not need to calculate weighting efficiency when creating a template because sample data from a report is not available at this stage.

Find an existing weight scheme template

Your weight scheme templates are visible to other users in the application. Likewise, you can see the templates that others have created.

• To search for weight scheme templates by values in the Scheme Name or Created By columns, enter the search string in the search text box.
• Use the controls at the bottom of the page to view the previous or next page, click a specific page number, or change the number of entries per page (10, 25, or 50).

Edit a weight scheme template

Changes you make to weight scheme templates affect the templates themselves. Any weight schemes you created by importing the template prior to the changes are unaffected.

1. Click the Options menu next to the weight scheme template you want to edit and select Edit.
   
2. Update the profile variables or target percentages and then click Save.

Delete a weight scheme template

Remove a weight scheme template that's no longer needed. When you delete a weight scheme template, any weight schemes you created by importing the template prior to the deletion are unaffected.

1. Click the Options menu next to the weight scheme template you want to delete and select Delete.
   
2. In the confirmation dialog, click Delete.
