Why is this feature being deprecated?
This feature is being deprecated because there is a new alternative that better serves users' needs. Deprioritizing the older version of this feature allows Alida to accelerate platform modernization efforts. Our development teams can focus on improving user experience, performance, and scalability in heavily used areas of the platform instead of maintaining and supporting suboptimal functionality.
What should I use instead?
Use modern reports for open-ended analysis. Modern reporting offers several advantages over standard reporting:
- The original responses appear in-line in the same report as the rest of your survey data.
- AI summaries and sentiment analysis speed up the analysis journey and help you arrive at insights faster.
- Smart Grouping automatically groups together similar responses, so you spend less time manually reading through and categorizing responses.
- The AI Assistant provides interactive assistance for analyzing and understanding report data, and for creating charts and visualizations.
What do I need to do?
- Enable AI and Machine Learning if you haven't already. This will allow you to use AI summaries and sentiment analysis, Smart Grouping, and the AI Assistant.

Create a new modern report anywhere you want to perform text analysis.
The Open End question data is displayed in question tiles in the report. To access the advanced text analysis functionality listed above, click the options menu (the three dots) and select Tile Settings.
