Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) provide recommendations on how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities. Where possible, Member Hubs conform to WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines. When the Member Hub is designed correctly, and posts adhere to best practices, all members will have equal access.
Keep these considerations in mind when designing your Member Hub and posting content.
Contrast
When you are choosing colors for the Member Hub, ensure they have a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1. The text and background colors should have enough contrast so that people with moderately low vision can still read the site.
Post headings and structure
Screen readers have an easier time reading well structured posts with properly tagged headings. For example, the top-level heading of the post should be tagged H1, the secondary headings should be tagged H2, and so on.
Alt text
Add descriptive alternative text for images and files, to make them accessible for screen readers.
Links
Use meaningful, descriptive text in hyperlinks. For example, you can
say

meal prep tips for beginners
instead of

here.
Lists
Provide helpful context for numbered and bulleted lists, so that someone using a screen reader knows what is in the list and can decide whether to skip ahead. Ensure the lists make sense in the context of the post.
Audio and video closed captioning
Hubs do not allow you to enter closed captioning for audio and video files. However, there may be closed captioning capabilities in your multimedia platforms (for example, YouTube) that you can use.
