Response tagging in modern reports
Evaluate responses and tag them as noteworthy or low-quality using modern reporting's built-in functionality.
When you distribute an activity, you try your best to find the right participants: the customers you want to hear from, the people who will provide you high-quality feedback, the third-party sample that fits your target demographic. But despite your best efforts to ensure response quality, the responses you receive may not be what you were expecting. You may need to do some data cleaning to exclude low-quality responses before you begin analysis, or you may wish to categorize responses for any other research or business reason to enhance your analysis. The Manage Responses page in modern reporting allows you to do just that.
On the Manage Responses page, you can evaluate responses and tag and organize them, all without having to export your data or leave the application. Aside from data cleaning and organization, tagging provides greater flexibility in your data analysis. Use tags in filters, recodes, or banners to refine your data set or provide added context. If you do need to export data, tags you create also appear in CSV (Filtered Responses) exports for additional traceability.
Go to the Manage Responses page
You can access the Manage Responses page in two ways.
View responses
The Manage Responses page lists all the responses received for the survey.
- Member ID
- Response Started
- Response Completed
- Tags
By default, responses are sorted according to the Response Completed date and time in descending order.
- Find a response based on Member ID by using the Search Member ID field.
- Use the paging controls in the bottom right corner to go to the previous or next page.
- Use the menu in the bottom center to show 10, 25, or 50 responses at a time.
- Click Refresh Data to refresh your data set and view incoming responses.
Add and manage columns on the Manage Responses page
Add survey responses or profile variables as columns. Viewing this data alongside the response metadata provides more context and helps you evaluate and tag responses.
-

-
Manage columns.
- To move a column into the desired position, click the options menu
in the column header and select Move Left,

- To pin a column to the left of the table, click the options menu in
the column header and select Pin Column.
This option is useful if you added a lot of columns which you need to scroll horizontally to view, and you want to freeze specific columns in place as you scroll. You can pin multiple columns.
- To unpin a pinned column, click the options menu in the column
header and select Unpin Column.
The column returns to its original position in the table.
- To move a column into the desired position, click the options menu
in the column header and select Move Left,
Move to Start, Move
Right, or Move to End.
Filter the responses on the Manage Responses page
Filtering can help you quickly find all the responses you want to tag a certain way.
Example
- You add the Shopping Frequency, Shopper Type, and Online or In-Person Shopping questions as columns.
- You filter the responses to include data that matches the following
conditions:
- This Survey Shopping Frequency Is 4+ times a week
- This Survey Shopper Type Is Super Shopper
- This Survey Online or In-Person Shopping Is Online
- Once the filter is applied, the Manage Responses page refreshes to only display responses that match your criteria, allowing you to bulk select the responses and apply the Follow-Up Survey Required tag.
