Data dictionary

The data dictionary file lists all the questions included in the export and the answer code or label.

To create a data dictionary, in the Exports tab, export your survey data in CSV or Unicode CSV format. For more information, see Export data and Access exported data.

The data dictionary contains the following information:

Value Label	Description
Question Name	The name of the question that appears in the Question Tree of your survey.
Question Type	The format of the question presented to the participant. For example, SingleChoice.
Question (Instruction) Text	The question text presented to the participant in verbatim question types such as Open End, Single Choice, and Numeric. The Row text presented to the participant in Grid question types such as Multi Choice Grid, Rank Order Grid, and Allocation Grid.
Answer	The text of the answer option.
Position	The location of the question within your survey.
Code	The precode that was assigned to the answer.

Note: The Question Type and Question Text labels are only available in the UnicodeCSVEnhanced and UnicodeCSVLabelled export options.
