Add a text field to an answer

Display a text field for participants to enter an answer. This allows you to include an Other, please specify option in a Single Choice or Multiple Choice question.

Create a Single Choice Button or Multiple Choice question.

When you add a text field for an Other, specify answer, a text field is displayed for participants to enter an answer. By default, the field is 1 line high, with the exact height based on the font type and style selected.

Answer with text field from the participant's perspective

1. In the Table of Contents, locate the question that you want to contain a text field answer option.
2. In the Answer text field, enter any label text for your answer.
   Other, please specify.
3. Click Options, and select Make answer other/specify.
   
4. Use the Number of lines spinner to set the text box height.
   
   Tip: Increasing the height of the text field encourages lengthier responses.

You have successfully added a text box to your answer. Participants will be able to type text into this answer.
