You can set default email notification
settings for all forum participants before a forum is open.
However, after a forum is open, individual participants can select
their own notification settings. Their personal preferences will override the
default setting.
Note:
- You can change the default notification settings at any
time; these changes will affect all participants who have not selected personal
notification settings.
- Personal notification
settings work on a per-forum basis.

In the upper right-hand corner of the forum page, click your
account name.
The
My Profile page appears.

In the My Notification Settings area, select
your personal notification settings.

Optional:
To receive email notifications when someone creates a new
post, select
New forum posts.
Selecting this option means that when someone creates a new
top-level post within the forum, you will receive an email notification.
However, you will not receive notifications for any replies to these new
top-level posts.

Select a reply notification setting.

All
replies to my posts: You receive email notifications whenever
someone directly or indirectly replies to a post or reply you created. For
example, if Person A replies to you and Person B replies to Person A, you will
receive email notifications regarding both replies.

Direct
replies only: You only receive email notifications when someone
directly replies to a post or reply you created. For example, if Person A
replies to you and Person B replies to Person A, you will only receive an email
notification regarding Person A's reply.

None: Email
notifications are not sent for any replies.

Click
Save.
Your settings are saved and will be in effect immediately.
Any changes that the Administrator, Forum Owner, or Author make to the default
forum notification settings will not affect you.
