Invite members to participate in a discussion and provide qualitative feedback on a given topic.

Click the
App Drawer and select
Activities, and then click
New Project.
- Under Create New Forum, click Create.
- Type a Name for the forum (maximum 255 characters) and click Create.

In the Access Settings dialog, specify which users can
access the forum and click Apply Access Settings.
The access settings you can apply depend on the user role you have been assigned.
Access Setting User Roles Description Admin Only Admin Only Admin users can access the activity. Everyone Power User, Author All other users in the application instance can access the activity. Teams Admin, Power User, Author All users that belong to the assigned team(s) can access the activity. If you belong to multiple teams, you can assign the activity to all of the teams you belong to, or just one or more specific teams. Note:- The access settings options are displayed if your account has the Can change access settings permission applied.
- If your account does not have this permission, the activity will be assigned to the teams you belong to, or if you don't belong to any teams it will be available to everyone.
- Admins have access to all activities, regardless of access settings.
- If you have multiple communities, select the perspective you are viewing and moderating the forum from.

Click
Go To Forum.
The forum opens in a new browser tab.
The language you see in the forum interface depends on your admin account's language setting. When you distribute the forum, participants will see the locale that corresponds to their respective Community.

If this is your first forum for the Community, type a screen name.
The screen name is visible to participants when you are moderating and contributing.
- Click Edit.
- Type the Title.
- Type a Description.
- Optional: Format the title or description text.
- Optional: Add or remove links.
- Optional: Insert an image.
- Optional: Insert a video.
- Click Save.

Optional:
Click
New Post to create a new top-level post.
Perform this step if you want to:
- Create
seed posts
to start the conversation. - Guide the overall direction of the discussions by introducing specific topics.
- Pose questions to participants.
Note: If you plan to only let participants reply to your top-level posts and prevent them from creating their own, you have to perform this step. Otherwise, participants will be unable to post. - Create
- Configure forum settings.
