Export a modern report to Excel – Alida Help Center

Export your report data as an XLSX spreadsheet and view the results in Excel.

Ensure that your report is displaying the appropriate data before you export the report. For example, verify that the correct filters are applied and the required banners are included.

Excel exports are available in two formats:

Summary Data presents an overview of the survey results by summarizing each question in a data table.
Response Data presents each response as a table row.

The report is exported as an Excel Workbook (.XLSX) file.

Open the modern report.
On the report toolbar click Export and choose an Excel option:
- Excel (Summary Data)
- Excel (Response Data)
If you chose Excel (Response Data), select one of these options:
- Filtered Responses: Think of this as the more user-friendly export option. The export includes the responses that match the filter currently applied to the report. If you want to include all responses, remove the filters.
  The export also includes other data such as profile variables and tags. Tags are included if they were applied to responses or added to the report as data tiles.
- All Responses: Think of this as the raw data export option. The export includes the raw survey responses collected by the application.
Click Export Excel.
The Active Exports dialog is displayed while the export file is created. You can wait for the file to become available to download or return to the dialog later by selecting Export > View Active Exports.
Tip: If you decide you don't want an export after it started, or if it's taking too long, you can click Cancel to stop the export generation. You can only have one export processing at a time.
In the Active Exports dialog, click Download next to the export.
When the download is complete, you can open the file from your web browser, or from the folder where it is saved on your computer. For example, in Google Chrome you can access the download from the top-right corner of the browser.

Excel summary data export

The exported file contains a worksheet with a summary view of the report including any banners and nested banners applied to the report.

Depending on the types of tiles included in your report, and the features enabled in the tiles, your report may include any of the following:

The summary view includes summary tables for crosstabs, Net Promoter Score℠(NPS®)¹ values, sentiment analysis, and TURF analysis.
When you export a report that contains questions with sentiment analysis, separate crosstab tables are included for Positive, Negative, Neutral, and All responses.
If smart grouping is enabled for a tile, a crosstab is included for the tile with the groups identified and the counts and percentages for each group. For other/specify answers, the smart groups are displayed in a separate crosstab under the crosstab for the question.

For example, the exported information for a NPS® question includes the quantitative data. If the Sentiment Analysis tab was enabled for this question, additional tables with the results of the sentiment analysis would also be included.

The export does not contain any text data from other/specify questions, original responses for Open End questions, or follow-up responses for NPS® questions. Excel response data export

In a response data export, each row represents one survey response. The following metadata is available for all responses:

Response Started Time
Response Completed Time
DataSet Type (live or test data)
DisplayType (desktop or mobile)
UserAgent (browser information)
RespondentLocale
Response tag information

Each survey question is represented by one or more table columns.

For Single Choice questions are represented by one column. The answer text of the selected response is displayed.
For Multiple Choice questions, each answer option is its own column. 1 represents a selected answer, while 0 represents an unselected one.
For Open End questions, the full text of the response is displayed.
For Grid questions, each statement is its own column.

Note: If the exported file's name contains square brackets, you may have trouble opening the file because square brackets denote linked files in Excel. Rename the file by removing the square brackets and try opening the file again.
