Perform a secure file transfer

You can use the secure file transfer feature to securely upload and share files with other Admins in your community or with authorized Alida staff.

Note:

• You must be an Admin user to perform this task.
• This feature is intended to facilitate the secure transfer of member data that includes personally identifiable information (PII), and other sensitive information.

When you upload a file it is stored in a secure server location that is only accessible by your community. Only your community Admins and authorized Alida staff can access the file and download it. During the upload process, each file is scanned to detect viruses and malware. The file is retained, and available for download, for 7 days and then automatically deleted.

You can upload any of the supported file types including plain text files, documents, and archive files.

The maximum file size you can upload is 200 MB.

Note: Password protected files cannot be uploaded successfully and fail with an Unsupported status.

1. In the navigation bar, click Product Settings > File Transfer.
   
2. To upload a new file:
   1. Do one of the following:
      • To upload your first file, in the center of the page, click Upload File.
      • To upload a subsequent file, at the top right of the page, click Upload New File.
   2. Drag and drop the file in the File to upload area, or click select a file and select the file to upload, and then click Done.

      Do not navigate away from the page until you see a message indicating that the file uploaded successfully. The status of the file transfer is In Progress while the file is scanned for viruses and other issues. When the scan is finished, and no issues are detected, the status is updated to Completed.

      If the scan identifies any issues the status is listed as Failed. You can delete files with a Failed status, but they cannot be downloaded by you or any other user.

      If you want to upload multiple files, you need to repeat this process to select and upload them one at a time.

3. To download an existing file:
   1. Click Options next to the file to download and select Download.
      

      Note: You can only download files where the status of the file transfer is listed as Completed. This ensures that partially uploaded, invalid, or insecure files cannot be downloaded.
4. To manually delete an uploaded file:
   1. Click Options next to the file to delete and select Delete.
      
   2. In the Delete File dialog box, click Delete.
   Note: Uploaded files are automatically deleted after 7 days.
