Unmerge previously merged answers

Revert a merged answer to display the original answer options.

Open the standard survey report.

1. On the report toolbar, click Edit.
2. In Step 1 - Select Questions, select one or more questions for which you want to edit answers.

   You can merge answer options for these question types:

   • Single Choice
   • Single Choice Grid
   • Multiple Choice
   • Multiple Choice Grid
   • Profile variables that have been added to the report (Choice type)

   Tip:

   • Sort the question list by Question Name, Question Text, or Answers/Values.
   • Type a keyword in the Find field to search for a question by question name, question text, or answer text.
   • Click Select all to select all questions or all search results displayed.
3. Click Next.
4. Click the arrow to the left of the question name to expand its content.
   Note: The first question is expanded by default.
5. Select a previously merged answer or a row that was added because of a merge-and-append, and then click Unmerge.
   • A previously merged answer reverts to being displayed as separate answers.
   • Any answer label changes revert to the original answer text.
   • An appended row disappears.
6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for each question you selected.
7. Optional: Click Back to return to Step 1 - Select Questions and change your question selections.
   Note: Any unsaved changes will be discarded.
8. When you are finished, click Apply.

   The Edit dialog closes and you return to the report. Counts and answer labels are updated to reflect your changes. The changes are visible in:

   • Chart or table view
   • The shared version of the report
   • Excel exports
   • Chart PNG downloads

Tip: You can further edit individual questions at any time by doing one of the following:

Option	Description
Single Choice Multiple Choice	Scroll to the question, click Customize > Edit.
Single Choice Grid Multiple Choice Grid Allocation Rank Order Highlighter Image Upload Open End Numeric Participant Information	Scroll to the question, click Edit.

The Edit dialog opens with the current question already selected.

Note: Merged answers cannot be used in subgroups or filters.
