Creating a custom measure from a dimension

You can create a custom measure to calculate an aggregation specific to the data type of a particular dimension and use it in your visualizations.

1. In the field picker, hover over a dimension and click the More menu.
2. Select Aggregate and then select a function.
   
   
   The suggested functions vary based on the type of dimension you've chosen.

   • Number:
     • Count distinct
     • Sum
     • Average
     • Min
     • Max
     • Median
   • String:
     • Count distinct
     • List of unique values
   • Date
     • Count distinct

The custom measure is added to the Custom Fields section of the Field Picker and can be selected for your visualization.
