If you have a translated survey that won't validate, there may be hidden empty HTML blocks in your survey text that do not say "No translation required." These empty blocks are normally generated by hidden HTML tags in empty question text or instructions text boxes, and leaving them without a translation will prevent you from completing your translations and validating your survey. Follow the steps below to delete the empty HTML blocks.
Detailed Steps
-
In the Surveys app, from the Activities list, open your power survey.
-
In Power Survey Authoring, click the Translations tab and log in to the Translations Portal.
-
Review each item to find the empty blocks that require translation (empty blocks that don't say ** No translation required **).
-
Once you've identified all the empty blocks that require translation, sign out of the Translations Portal and return to the Questionnaire tab.
-
Go to each element in the survey where you found an empty block.
-
Click the question text or instructions text box corresponding to the empty block and select HTML.
When you do this, you may see HTML code that looks like &npsp; -
Delete the HTML code (&npsp;) and click Save.
-
Follow steps 5-7 until you've deleted the HTML code from all the empty blocks.
-
Go back to the Translations Portal to complete your translations.
-
Validate your survey.
