If you try to pipe selected answer(s) from a Single Choice Grid into the text of a follow-up question, the piped answer show as the category (column) label. If you need to pipe in the selected answers rather than the category you can create a recode with the answer options from your Single Choice Grid, and then use the recode to pipe particular answers into the text of your follow-up question.
Example
You have a Single Choice Grid named Purchase_Frequency which asks respondents to rate how often they buy a list of brands using these 5 point frequency options:
- Very Often
- Somewhat often
- Occasionally
- Not very often
- Not at all
A follow-up question will be asked to respondents on brands where Very Often was selected. You would like to pipe the responses selected in the Purchase_Frequency question into the follow-up question.
