The Survey Response Rate is the number of members with an activity status of Completed, Disqualified, or Over Quota who were invited to complete a survey within the last 30 days. It is expressed as a percentage of total members invited in the last 30 days.
To calculate the Survey Response Rate, the application uses the following formula:
(# Completes + # Disqualified + # Overquota in the last 30 days) / # Invitations in the last 30 days
If you are unsure whether the Survey Response Rate is correct, you can export member participation data and manually check the calculation in Excel. Follow the steps below to do so.
Detailed Steps
- In the Community app, click Community > Metrics.
- Click Export Member Participation Data.
- Select start and end dates based on the Updated date stamp displayed in the Survey Response Rate widget.
- Choose a start date 30 days prior to the Updated date stamp.
- Choose an end date to match the Updated date stamp.
- Click Export.
- Open the CSV file in Excel.
- If necessary, filter the CSV file so that it only displays rows with an ActivityType value of Survey, and an InvitedDate within the last 30 days.
In the survey event columns, there is a 1 in the cell if an event occurred.
- Add all the 1s for SurveyDisqualified, SurveyCompleted, and SurveyOverQuota.
- Add all the 1s from SurveyInvited.
- Divide the step 7 total by the step 8 total, and then multiply the answer by 100.
