You can implement "show some" logic by placing items in a group in a survey, and then setting the group's properties. If you choose to display objects in Random order or Rotated order, the Number of objects to display property becomes active and lets you choose the number of items you want to randomize or rotate within the group. After the items are randomized or rotated, the first N items (based on the number you specified) will be shown to participants.
Groups can contain any other survey elements, including other groups. The "show some" logic will only operate on the top-level items that are included within it.
Example
You have 3 concepts and want each respondent to see only one concept. Additionally, for Concept 1 you want to only show one of the two questions.
Detailed Steps
- Create a group in your survey.
- Add your questions to the group as required.
- Ensure the group object is selected in the Table of Contents.
- In the Display objects in list, select Random order or Rotated order.
- In the Number of objects to display list, select the number of items you want each participant to see.
