This applies to upgraded customers who use a Power Survey as their recruitment survey and want to send a reminder for members to double opt-in. Upgraded customers are not able to create an automatic invitation reminder but they can still manually send a reminder to double-opt in. First, generate a link from your Custom Confirmation Study, create an email reminder in a dummy survey and then add the activity link into the body of the email reminder.
Detailed Steps
Create an activity link from your Custom Confirmation Study
- In the Surveys app, go to the Activities page.
- Open your Custom Confirmation Study.
- Click the Options menu, and then click Distribute.
- Click New Link.
- Type an internal name for the link.
- Optional - If you have multiple communities, select a community from the Assign it to a Community list.
- Type a member facing name in the Member Facing Activity Name field.
- Click Create.
Result: The Source page appears.
- Select Identity Variable.
Result: The Identity Variable list is activated.
- From the Identity Variable list, select Email.
- Click Generate Live Link.
- In the Live Link section, copy the live link into a text editor such as Notepad.
- Replace the string [%insert value%] with the email pipe [%Email%].

Create a dummy survey to be a reminder
- In the global navigation menu, navigate to Projects > Activities, and click New Project.
Result: The Choose Project dialog appears.
- In the Activities section, under Survey, click Create.
Result: The Getting Started dialog appears.
- Type a survey name in the Name field and select a locale in the Locale field.
Create an email invitation containing the activity link from the Custom Confirmation Study
- Beside the reminder survey you created in the Activities List, click the Options menu, and then click Distribute.
- Click New Invitation.
Result: The Create New Invitation dialog appears.
- Type a name for the email invitation in the Name field.
- Optional - If you have multiple communities, select a community from the Assign to a Community list.
- Click Create.
- In the body of the distribution email, click Source and switch to the HTML view.
- Replace [%ActivityLink%] with https://example.com/c/a/UniqueSurveyId?i=[%Email%] in the following places:
- <br /><a href="[%ActivityLink%]">Click here to start</a><br />
- [%ActivityLink%] pipe as seen in the rich text editor.
- On the Recipients tab, from the Recipients menu, select Create a new filter.
Result: The Confirm Filters dialog appears.
- Add filter conditions to include members who will receive the email.
Example
- Optional - At the bottom, click Total Eligible Recipients to confirm the number of members to be included.
- Click Save.
- On the Schedule tab, under Send Date, select Now.
- Click Review and Send to review the details of your distribution, and then click Send Now.
Note:
- Close the dummy survey as soon as the invitation has been sent to your members.
- Test emails do not contain live links or piped-in variables. You can use the test link to verify that the link will work with a valid email, or perform a live test with a member matching the criteria.
