After Alida has completed your community locale change, you will need to translate your previously authored survey content to the new locale to distribute successfully. The translation functionality will be enabled for you to translate the surveys you have authored before the locale change. If you distribute the surveys without translating, the surveys will appear blank to participants because you can only distribute content matching your new community locale. New surveys are automatically set to author in the new locale.
Example
Your community locale has changed from English (United States) to English (Canada). Prior to the locale change, you have authored a survey, "Favorite Summer Movie", that you now want to distribute to the community of English (Canada) members. However, "Favorite Summer Movie" was authored in English (United States), so you will need to translate the survey contents to English (Canada) to successfully distribute to the English (Canada) community members.
Detailed Steps
To translate your survey content from English (United States) content to English (Canada), we recommend the following workflow:
- Assign locales to be translatable in your survey using Manage Locales.
- Batch translate your survey by exporting a translations source file from your survey to create a template to import batch translations.
- Switch between locales in your survey using the locale switcher to make edits to the translated content.
