Recodes can be used to pipe in images into a follow-up question. A recode is first created with the images and logic for each answer option. The recode is then used as the pipe in the follow-up question.
Details
Access the References and Recodes section
- Go to the Surveys app, open the Activities page, and click your power survey to open it.
- On the Build page, click Edit to open Power Survey Authoring in a new browser tab.
- Click the Questionnaire tab.
- Click References and Recodes.
Create a Recode
- In the References and Recodes section, right click on the study name and select Add recode.
- Enter a name for your recode, and click OK.
- Click the filter icon.
- Search for the question that contains the images, and double-click it to add to the filter.
- Click the Include tab.
- Click the gear icon and choose Add Condition.
- Add logic for the first image. For example, if the question containing the images is Q1 and the first answer option is Apple. The condition should Q1 IS Apple.
- Click Save.
- For each answer option, click Add to add a new answer and repeat steps 3-8 above.
Add images to the Recode
- Click the edit (pencil) icon.
- Select the Image Manager icon.
- Search for the image to insert and click Insert.
Note: If you click the Properties tab, you can resize the image there. - Click Update.
- Repeat steps 1-4 above for each answer option.
- Click Save on the top right to save the recode.
Pipe the response
- Open the question for piping.
- Select the question editor and place your cursor where the piping should be added.
- In the menu bar of the Question Editor, click on the piping [X] icon.
- Expand the Questions menu.
- Expand the recode name.
- Choose Selected Answers.
- Click Update.
