Higher counts can occur for links posted on social media because of web browser behavior. When web browsers attempt to access or preview the content, it registers as a click or a start in the application.
Example
When you post an activity link to Facebook, Facebook attempts to load the content of the link, which increases the Clicked count. Additionally, each feed that displays a preview of the first page of the survey registers as a start, thereby leading to higher Started numbers.More Information
